The new Ferrari team boss Frederic Vasseur is happy to take on the challenge and is not afraid of pressure…
Frederic Vasseur: “You want to play tennis at Wimbledon, while racing you dream of one day driving a Ferrari. I took a 24-hour break, consulted with my wife – and gave a positive answer.
Around Ferrari, there are more emotions and passions, but all racing teams are ranked in the same way. It’s all about technology, efficiency and continuous improvement. Of course Ferrari has very different expectations than Alfa Romeo, but I like this pressure. Our goal is to win! I really want to have such a goal every day and feel such motivation. The team is used to dealing with this and frankly it doesn’t scare me either.
We are behind Red Bull Racing, but the season consists of 23 races and we haven’t even driven the first one yet. Last year the team proved once again that the season does not end after the first race. We know there is still a long way to go. And we have to actively refine the car throughout the season.”
