The weather and conditions in Bahrain are very stable, the temperature changes by one or two degrees a day, there is almost no rain, but many drivers complained over the weekend that the cars behave differently than during the tests…
Sergio Perez «I don’t know what has changed, but the balance has changed in recent days. Last week we covered a very long distance in testing and at the start of the race weekend the balance was completely different. I don’t want to go into details, but the car behaved differently and we didn’t know the reason. Maybe it’s because of the wind, a slightly different temperature – I don’t know. We will have more information after the weekend.
We had to make some pretty serious changes to both cars, in the end we decided to sacrifice a bit of speed in qualifying for better pace in the race. Hope it pays off.
In general the balance was not on me during qualifying, I learned to deal with it and put in a good lap in the final, but this was not enough to get ahead of Max.
