Lando Norris: Mechanics could practice pit stops

Lando Norris finished last in Bahrain, partly because he pitted six times to solve problems with the car’s pneumatic system. Commenting on the results of the season’s first leg, Lando joked that the team’s mechanics were able to train extra pit stops due to technical difficulties.

Lando Norris: “The positive result of the race is that the mechanics have been able to practice many pit stops. If we talk about the pace, he allowed me to earn points. We’re sorry we’re having technical difficulties.

I had a good start, gained a few positions and then the problems with the pneumatics started, especially in the first corner. That made me roll back more and more, because I had to pit every ten laps.

In our situation it is very important to keep the whole team motivated and I will help with this as it is part of my job. We have no reason to give up. We had to earn points, that was our goal for the race.

At the moment our car is not competitive enough and the team knows that. If we solve the problem, we’ll be fine.”
