The first race of the season in Bahrain showed that with Mercedes’ speed you can’t count on winning races anywhere near. However, team driver George Russell left fans hoping for a better result at the next Grand Prix, noting Mercedes’ problems could be related to the Sakhir circuit.
“The track in Bahrain is exceptional, so the pace on other circuits can be three tenths different,” says George Russell edition of Racingnews365. – I like to think that Sakhir is one of the most difficult circuits for us. If you remember in recent years, Mercedes was never particularly strong in Bahrain.
We know that the team is capable of fine-tuning the car and increasing the speed. At the moment, however, we are still far from where we want to be and we need to improve quickly.”
