Last week it was reported in the Italian press that Charles Leclerc had requested a personal meeting with Ferrari president John Elkann to discuss the team’s performance at the Bahrain Grand Prix.
According to journalists, the meeting took place, but in the latest edition of the French Auto Hebdo, the head of the Scuderia, Frederic Vasseur, made it clear that there were no unscheduled meetings between the drivers and management after the race in Bahrain.
Frederic Vasseur: “After winter testing, the riders met John Elkann and Benedetto Vigna. The next time we get together to talk is after the race in Imola. These meetings are scheduled.
Vasseur also denied rumors of a conflict with Ferrari chief executive Benedetto Vigna – Vigna is said to be trying to limit his role in the team.
“I have never had so many resources and decision-making power as I do now,” concludes Frederic Wasser.
