On the highway in Baku, the power of power plants comes to the fore. Haas driver Kevin Magnussen thinks he will be competitive this weekend thanks to the Ferrari engine.
Q: Will the experience gained in the last stage in Monaco help you on another city circuit in Baku?
Kevin Magnussen: These songs are very different, but they have some common features. Baku has an interesting track with unique long straights and slow corners. I’m looking forward to the weekend.
Q: There are two DRS zones in Baku and a very long start right. Are we going to see a lot of overtaking this weekend? What are your memories of this match?
Kevin Magnussen: Races in Baku are usually event-rich. There is a high risk of departure, yellow flags and the appearance of a safety car. Historically, there are many red flags on this track, which offers more opportunities compared to other tracks.
Q: What result do you expect this weekend? Is the track suitable for your VF-22?
Kevin MagnussenA: I hope it fits. There are long straights here, we have a Ferrari engine – I don’t expect any problems. Power is important on this track, and we have it.
Q: Behind a third of the season. Have you gotten back into the groove after last year’s break?
Kevin Magnussen: I love what I do because my dream has come true. On the one hand I have a very busy schedule, but on the other hand I have been living in such a rhythm for the last eight years. Last year I had too much free time, so I’m glad I’m back on my regular schedule. Yes, I have a lot to do, but it’s a lot of fun.
