Prior to the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, Nick de Vries discussed the characteristics of the track with his compatriot Max Verstappen in the messenger…
Nick deVries: “In the morning Max and I exchanged messages. But we were talking about his qualifying round in Jeddah, not his stomach upset. I’m sure he’ll be fine in that regard.
I was impressed with his circle, I watched it several times – he was ironic about his accident, but I was impressed with how aggressively he attacked. I don’t know if I will do the same tomorrow – let the other riders assess the degree of risk first. I need time to get used to it, to find my pace and to attack in qualifying, when the condition of the asphalt will be different.
The first practice is in warm weather, then the grip will improve with each session – on the street you always need time to get comfortable and attack.
