Formula 1 supports Race Against Dementia, a charity founded by three-time champion Sir Jackie Stewart, which raises money for research and development of treatments for dementia.
In 2015, Jackie’s wife, Lady Helen, was diagnosed with progressive cognitive decline. Subsequently, the former racer founded the Race Against Dementia charity foundation and invested in the Alzheimer’s Research Center program and provided a scholarship to young scientists by organizing an internship for them in Formula 1 teams.
Stefano Domenicali, Head of Formula 1: “We are proud to support the Race Against Dementia Foundation and their work to find a cure for a terrible disease that destroys lives and tears families apart.
I want to pay tribute to Sir Jackie Stewart for his incredible efforts to raise awareness and fund a cause that I know is very personal to him. We can use our platform to further raise awareness and help find a cure for this disease that affects so many people around the world.”
