Kevin Magnussen is happy to have returned to Formula 1, although he didn’t really believe it was possible, but this unexpected return has a downside: the Dane did not have time to train properly and achieve the necessary physical shape.
In addition, it is unlikely to be able to make a full recovery until next year as the seasonal calendar is very tight and there is simply no time for quality training.
“My form is already much better, but I wouldn’t say it’s ideal,” Kevin is willing to admit. – I think it will be like this all year round, and maybe only next winter I will be able to reach the desired level.
I won’t be able to fully recover my form yet, because the season has started and I have to train intensively at home, but then I leave for the flights for almost a week and when I come back I can not accelerate and increase the pace of the training.
In addition, there are series of two or three races in a row, and in between the stages you do physical training in a moderate mode, so it is difficult to really improve your form during the season. But the most important area is the neck, and the muscles gradually get stronger.”
Magnussen is not complaining about the busy schedule, however, according to him he is enjoying performance in Formula 1 again after a year-long hiatus: “I’m doing my dream job, I like everything. I am used to this schedule as I have lived on it for the past eight years.
Last year was an exception, when I had a lot of free time, which I also liked, it was great. But no less pleasant to return to the usual routine. Yes, it’s very intense, but it’s fun!”
