Yuki Tsunoda showed the 13th fastest time in Jeddah on Friday, and his AlphaTauri teammate Nick de Vries only 17th…
Yuki Tsunoda (13th): “This year visibility has improved and the track has become safer, but the rest of the features haven’t changed much. Judging by the training results, we are slightly behind those fighting for a place in the top ten, but we have one more day to sort it all out.
There were no problems in training, but we know we need to get more speed out of it. The goal is always the same: to reach the final of qualifying, but a place in the second part this weekend is more likely than last weekend. The tires aren’t wearing as much as we expected, so we can give it our all.”
Nick deVries (17th): “Today I flew in Jeddah for the first time. Interesting and fast song – I liked it. Productive day. The results in the middle group are very tight, only a few tenths between 11th and 20th positions, but we’ll see what happens tomorrow.
Everything can change in one direction or the other. We will try to get the maximum in qualifying.”
