On Friday in Jeddah, Ferrari tested new products and was satisfied with their effectiveness. Charles Leclerc, who set a ninth fastest time in practice two, said he concentrated on preparing for the race as he waited to lose ten places at the start.
His teammate Carlos Sainz closed the evening session with the tenth fastest time and noted the good race pace of the SF-23.
Charles Leclerc (9e): “We tested several new products that met expectations. It’s hard to judge the joining of forces, as everyone was working on different programs, but the feeling from the car is good.
In qualifying we will try to squeeze the maximum out, but since I am waiting for the loss of ten places at the start, the main task is to regain these positions in the race.
Carlo Sainz (10th): “A busy day in Jeddah. This is a very unusual track with peculiar characteristics, so specific settings are needed to achieve a good balance.
We have the potential to improve, but overall we found a range of work. We have a good race pace and on Saturday we will concentrate on getting the most out of the car in qualifying.”
