Valtteri Bottas is in his second season with Alfa Romeo. Compared to his performance for Mercedes, his results have clearly slipped, but the Finn says he feels much more comfortable with Hinvil’s team than at his last job.
Valtteri Bottas: “Alfa Romeo has a different vibe. Part of it has a lot to do with the fact that when you’re fighting for a title, the pressure builds. Our team is not that big and I am more relaxed here because I have a long term future.
In addition, there are noticeable differences in the policies of the two companies. At Mercedes, some things were limited. I’ve gotten older and now I apply all the knowledge I gained in Formula 1. Of course I keep learning, but I don’t take a lot of things too seriously, especially something that directly affects me. Now I’m happy with everything.”
