Lando Norris told the details of the robbery in court

In London, court hearings continue in the case of the robbery of Lando Norris after the final of the European Football Championship. In the parking lot of the stadium, the McLaren driver was attacked by unknown persons and stole a watch worth £144,000.

On the afternoon of the first day of the hearing, Lando Norris came to court and gave details of the assault.

“After I left the stadium, I spoke to several people and saw two suspects walking around my car,” Lando told the court. “I noticed how they looked at my car and at me, and one of them bowed his head and put his right hand in his pocket.

The first suspect slowly approached me and asked, “Is this your car?” I don’t remember exactly what happened next, but the first suspect walked around me from behind and grabbed my neck with his right hand and put his left behind my back. He pulled me in by the neck and lifted my chin so that I looked up and didn’t see him.

Then he told his partner to pick up my watch. He yelled several times, “Get the watch.” He kept holding me while the second one tried to steal my watch. He didn’t succeed right away, but then he applied force and pulled the watch off, leaving scratches on my arm.

While the first suspect held me down, the second suspect pulled the watch off my left wrist and then ran down the footpath towards Rutherford Way. I’m not exactly sure where they were running because the view was blocked.

The first suspect was pretty close when he grabbed my neck. The second was about ten feet away. I saw the first one for about ten seconds and the communication itself lasted thirty seconds, not very long.

The robbery took place a week before the 2021 British Grand Prix. Thanks to the DNA left on Lando Norris, the police were able to find the suspects. Court hearings are underway.
