At a press conference on Saturday, Christian Horner spoke of reshuffles in the team’s coaching staff…
Christian Horner: “Our engineering team continues to evolve. We need to increase its effectiveness with a limited budget.
Guillaume has done a fantastic job over the last 15 or 16 years, helping Sebastian Vettel win races and titles – and leading our technical team to last year’s success.
Now he will take on a new role along with the riders of our youth program. We will try to make the most of his technical experience to help them integrate, use technical tools. This is an exciting new challenge for Rocky.
This weekend will be his last as chief race engineer. After the restructuring, Gianpiero Lambiase will take over as chief race engineer, while remaining race engineer for Max Verstappen. This is an evolution within the team and I am confident that both engineers will excel in their new roles.”
