McLaren is in last place in the Constructors’ Championship after two races in 2023 and has not earned any points. Head Andrea Stella said that for the fourth leg of the season in Baku, the team is preparing new items that should help improve.
Andrea Stella: “When it comes to the car’s weaknesses, we mean aerodynamic efficiency. But this does not mean that the car creates too much air resistance. Only the ratio between downforce and air resistance is not as effective as we thought. This is our greatest weakness.
We are preparing car upgrades for Baku – the numbers look promising. I hope that with these innovations we can reach fifth place. However, this is not enough to achieve the team’s goals for the season. We want our car to be in the top four.”
