Valtteri Bottas: Sunday is going to be fun!

Alfa Romeo has earned points in five races in a row and expects to continue this series in Baku…

Frederic Vasseur: team leader: “We are going to Baku to consolidate the progress of our team this season. We’ve done a lot and we can be happy with the results, but we can’t stop – we have to do our best at every stage.

In Monaco we saw that the difference in results is very small – in the blink of an eye you move from sixth to sixteenth place. That’s why it’s important to get the most out of every session, every round.

I expect the Baku track to suit our car, but before that the C42 performed well on all track types. The goals remain the same: to make as much progress as possible in qualifying with both cars and score points with both cars on Sunday.”

Valtteri Bottas: “I have both good and bad memories of the circuit in Baku. I really hope that this phase will leave only positive emotions.

It is very important that the weekend went off without any problems. Previously, after the difficulties on Friday, we were able to get good results, but if this time goes smoothly on Friday, we will be able to fully unlock the potential of our machine.

Races in Baku are often full of incidents, we have to be ready to take every opportunity. I’m sure Sunday will be fun!”

Guanyu Zhou: “I’m looking forward to the start of the weekend. Baku has an interesting track that allows you to fight and overtake. I want to have a clean, good weekend so we can show the strength of our team.

The potential is clear, I add something every weekend, now we have to put everything together and get the result we deserve. If we have a good Friday and qualify well on Saturday, we can do well in the race.”
