Williams has prepared several new products for the Australian podium and expects to compete for points…
Dave Robson, Chief Race Engineer: “After two evening races in the Middle East, we are going back to the daily schedule in Melbourne. Autumn is starting in Australia, it will be cooler than at the first races, rain is possible.
The Albert Park circuit was completed for last year’s Grand Prix and now there are almost no changes. But Logan never performed here. And although he has driven many laps in the simulator, nothing can replace the experience of real driving. Already in the first training he will have to get used to this physically demanding job.
In the first Grand Prix the FW45 showed its potential, we will continue to unleash it in Melbourne. This weekend we will try out some small new things and on Friday we will do additional testing of the settings.
The tire compounds are the same as in Jeddah, but due to the different track configuration and surface characteristics, they will behave slightly differently. However, they should do well this weekend and give the teams several options for strategy.
Alex Albon: “I have great memories from last year’s race in Melbourne, I love coming to this beautiful city where the fans create a great atmosphere. It looks like it’s going to rain this weekend. Let’s keep an eye on it again!”
Logan Sargent: “I’m looking forward to my first trip to Australia. I really wanted to be here, it’s great to be in Melbourne for the first time.
This weekend the team will have another chance to continue working on the car. There’s a stage ahead of us on a difficult circuit, but I’m looking forward to this weekend.”
