Alfa Romeo looks forward to the Australian Grand Prix with confidence and optimism…
Alessandro Alunni Bravi, Sauber Group Managing Director and Alfa Romeo F1 Team spokesman: “We look forward to the Australian Grand Prix with confidence – we have everything we need to fight for points again. We used the time since Jeddah to figure out how to make the machine more efficient. In addition, several new products will appear this weekend, we look forward to the opportunity to evaluate their effectiveness.
The Australian Grand Prix is a modern classic of Formula 1, we get a special feeling on this track. The warm welcome from the fans also makes us feel at home on the other side of the world.”
Valttery Bottas: “Everyone knows very well what I like about Australia. I feel like this race is almost my home: I was at the Adelaide Motorsports Festival last weekend, driving an Australian V8 and a classic Alfa Romeo touring car, so I’m ready for the race.
I really want to get a good result for the team at the track I like after a difficult weekend in Jeddah. We’ve seen how tight the results have been this year, but if we do everything right from the start of the weekend, we can get back to the points.
Guanyu Zhou: “I look back fondly on last year’s race in Melbourne and look forward to returning. There is quite a large Chinese community here, it was great to feel their support from day one. I’m sure there won’t be less fans this time around.
After a strong performance in Bahrain, we expected more from Jeddah, but the poor race in Saudi Arabia has not shaken our confidence. In Melbourne we will be able to compete at a high level again. We know what needs to be done to earn points, we have some new things to test. We are confident that we can have a successful weekend.”
