In the first two races for Aston Martin, Fernando Alonso took the podium twice – and he is looking forward to a successful performance this weekend…
Fernando Alonso: “After two successive podium finishes we have arrived in Melbourne in good spirits and we look forward to building on our success this weekend. Our car performed well on two different tracks, but we don’t overestimate our performance as we realize we need to add in all areas to achieve more.
Racing in Australia is always interesting. The track will be faster than a year ago, hopefully we will see more overtaking maneuvers. As always qualifying will be the decisive session at Albert Park, we have to do our best on Saturday to get as many points as possible on Sunday.”
Lance walk: “It was a shame to retire in Jeddah, so I am especially looking forward to returning to wrestling. The track in Australia is nothing like the one we’ve raced this season so there are no expectations – we’ll be working day in and day out.
Albert Park has a great track, the tarmac condition will improve as the weekend progresses. I especially like the fast connection of the ninth-tenth corners – it’s very pleasant to fly there. Melbourne is a great city and the fans are great. I hope we can please them with a spectacular race.”
