Piastri: McLaren has what it takes to get back into the lead

As an active Formula 1 driver, Oscar Piastri is preparing for the first home round in Melbourne. Ahead of the weekend, the Australian driver expressed how comfortable he was with the team and expressed his confidence that McLaren will succeed, even if it will take a while. a lot of effort.

Oscar Piastri: “I like working in a team! I worked very hard to get into Formula 1 and started racing 12 years ago. It was tough, but I am very happy to call myself a Formula 1 driver.

Everyone on the team gave me a warm welcome. I tried to spend as much time as possible on base preparing myself and helping the team, but also getting to know people, remembering their faces and names.

We have already spent the first races together, which has allowed me to strengthen relationships with all the mechanics who work with my car. I feel comfortable in the team, I’m very happy to play for McLaren and I think everything is going well.

The team has passion and energy that will help them get back to the lead. At the moment we are not in the positions we want to be, but Lando and I and the whole team want to win – that’s why we are in Formula 1.

We have developed a plan to move forward. We have a new wind tunnel opening, we have a new simulator, most importantly we have a plan. Sometimes half the success lies in understanding what exactly our problems are and what needs to be done to solve them.

I am sure that we have already learned much, if not all, about our weaknesses, and now we will work hard to solve all our problems.”
