After two races of the season, Alpine is fifth in the Constructors’ Championship. In Melbourne, Esteban Ocon said the team is not happy with the current position, but it fully reflects the machine’s capabilities.
The French driver added that work on the modernization continues at the base and that interesting technical solutions for the car will appear in the next races.
Esteban Ocon: “We have a good atmosphere in the team, everyone is motivated and ready to attack. We know we have to improve because Alpine is too far from the leaders at the moment.
Our team’s strength has always been the ability to refine the car – we succeeded last year. Hopefully we will do that this year too. At the base, I saw what ideas the engineers are working on – in the future we will have some interesting solutions. I’m sure the team can improve.
I think we are good at squeezing everything out of the car that he is capable of at the moment. In the first two races we did everything we could – in Bahrain with Pierre and in Jeddah with me. But you have to keep working to achieve more.”
