Norris: Adjustments in settings

The McLaren drivers are generally satisfied with Friday’s results as they were able to fully complete the planned program and it was useful for Oscar Piastri to work on the intermediate rubber in difficult weather conditions.

Lando Norris (8th): “I think the day went quite normally. Although I was not completely satisfied with the feeling of flying during the first session, we still worked productively. The entire first training session was devoted to aerodynamic testing and the information gathered will be useful to us in the future.

In fact, the full-fledged work began only in the second session, and I already felt more comfortable behind the wheel. All in all a nice day. We checked everything we planned, completed all points of the program and understood what is happening with the car. Now, in preparation for tomorrow, we need to make some adjustments to the settings. In addition, I worked on the wet track, so the day was productive and tomorrow we will try to improve the results.

Oscar Pistri (14th): “I love working at the track in Melbourne and seeing all the Australian fans. Also during the second practice it was useful to ride in the rain, because it was the first time I had to deal with intermediate rubber, and this gave me very useful information.

I think the first day of the weekend went well, and we are well prepared for Saturday. The work continues, but I’m already starting to adapt to the track.”
