Two weeks ago in Jeddah Kevin Magnussen opened the scoring with earned points and finished tenth. The Haas rider believes his team will have a chance to finish in the top ten in Melbourne.
Kevin Magnussen: “We know the car is fast in one fast lap – the team realized that during testing. In the long run, however, we have more problems, but in Bahrain it was not as bad as we thought. The problems in the first race were due to the fact that I started at the end and therefore did not earn any points.
In Jeddah our car proved to be one of the best in terms of rear tire degradation. It is clear that relegation problems will return on slow circuits, but apparently we are in good shape now. Since the battle for the points is very exciting, you need to have a good weekend to finish in the top ten.
The track in Melbourne is similar to Jeddah in many ways, so I hope we can get back into the middle group and earn points. But, as I said, the fight will be very tight, anything can happen, so you have to do everything right.
