Australian Oscar Piastri will hold his first Grand Prix at home this weekend…
Oscar Piastri: “Of course I’m happy. Home Grand Prix is a special event that has been long awaited. I remember playing cricket in the fields where the paddock is now as a child. The race in my hometown is a very special event in my life.
Last year I came to Albert Park as a reserve pilot and in 2015 I was a grid kid for Daniil Kvyat. I was next to his starting position and held the flag, but it didn’t help him – the car broke down on the exit circle of the pits.
The last time I raced in Australia was in karting, and then I moved to Europe. Qualification [в Джидде] boosted my confidence, but the race couldn’t prevent problems.
Of course I will do my best. This track is like Jeddah, I hope Lando doesn’t break my front wing this time.”
