Norris: I trust what Brown and Stella are doing

Ahead of the Australian Grand Prix, Lando Norris was asked how the team in general and its work this weekend in particular might be impacted by the recent resignation of James Key from the position of McLaren technical director.

Lando Norris: “If you look back on previous years, we usually performed better in Australia than at some other circuits. That’s exactly what happened a year ago. Therefore, I think we can continue this trend this weekend.

On the other hand, we didn’t work that bad in the last races, but we were unlucky because of reliability issues and other issues came up as well. In addition, I made a mistake in qualifying in Saudi Arabia. But if we in Melbourne manage to work normally all days of the weekend, I see no reason why we can’t earn points.

This remains our goal. As for the changes taking place in the team, something is always changing, although the recent high-profile news has attracted a lot of attention, which is understandable. But Zach Brown and Andrea Stella are doing what they think is right, which is right for the team, and I have complete confidence in them. So you have to be persistent and keep working.”
