Ahead of the Australian Grand Prix, Oscar Piastri presented a new helmet design dedicated to his debut home race.
Oscar Piastri: “So my first home race is just around the corner and it will of course be a very special experience. You need a special helmet for such a race! This weekend I have an Australian style helmet.
The design isn’t much different from my usual helmet, there’s just more Australian flags, but if you look at the top there’s a giant kangaroo now.
Overall, I decided to do my part too, adding more sparks, stars and more Australian motifs, including the silhouettes of Melbourne buildings – I think it turned out great! There is also a McLaren logo.
At first I wanted to change the design of the helmet a bit more explicitly, but then I decided to keep the same style that I had followed for the past two years.
