After the race in Australia, Formula 1 will take a three-week break due to the cancellation of the Chinese Grand Prix. Alpine F1 boss Otmar Szafnauer believes this break will help the teams a lot…
Otmar Szafnauer: “This break was not planned, but it is very important for everyone. Teams will be able to produce enough parts for both existing and new solutions. In addition, we can plan further updates that we find using modeling tools.
The next race after Australia will be held in Baku, where we have a weekend with a sprint on Saturday. There is always a high risk of accidents on a narrow city circuit – and during the break we will be able to prepare enough spare parts so that there will be no problems in Miami.
We will be bringing a lot of new products to Baku, as well as the next race in Miami, even though they are only a week apart. It is important that new items work properly as soon as we put them on the car. We have a good correlation with our modeling tools.”
