Mark Webber and Daniel Ricciardo once earned their first points in Formula 1 at the Australian Grand Prix at home, now Oscar Piastri has joined.
The Australian McLaren driver, who turns 22 today, is happy that after failures in Bahrain and Jeddah, everything worked out this time.
Oscar Piastri: “I’m happy to have earned my first points, especially on the home track. It’s great that we both finished in the top ten this time. The first two races were not very successful for the team, but much was beyond our control.
In Australia we have controlled the situation with more confidence, having achieved an excellent result, we need to act in the same way in the following races to consistently earn points.
We will have new items in Baku and later in the season, but it is important that we were able to earn points with this version of the car.”
