Former Formula 1 driver and German motorsport veteran Heins-Joachim Stuck praised Nico Hulkenberg’s performance in the opening races of the season. Stuck was initially dissatisfied with Haas’ decision to cut Mick Schumacher’s services, but has now changed his mind.
Heins-Joachim Stuck: “Haas signing Niko Hulkenberg is like winning the lottery for the team. It performs exactly as I expected and hoped. I know what he is capable of – Niko knows how to take the plunge and get results. He has not forgotten how to drive and should be in Formula 1.
I don’t know if Mick Schumacher could perform like Hulkenberg. Niko leads the team forward with experience that Mick does not yet have. Hulkenberg has become a very valuable asset to the team. He knows how the car should be and thanks to his experience he helps the team to modernize it.”
