Oscar Piastri only drove three races with McLaren, but that was enough for Lando Norris to name the qualities that set the young Australian apart from his former team-mate Daniel Ricciardo. According to Lando, he didn’t have to put in that much effort when Daniel was on the team.
Lando Norris: “Oscar is doing a great job – I say that sincerely. It’s even strange that I feel older and more experienced! He knows how to work well under pressure – this is his strong point. Oscar is always calm, in control of his emotions and he is fast. I think he has all the qualities a racer needs.
Oscar pushes me and forces me to put in more effort than I’ve had to in recent years. This is not only good for me, but also for the team. He had a great race in Melbourne and scored points after a tough weekend.”
