This year Daniel Ricciardo is once again working with Red Bull Racing, but now as a reserve driver, although of course he dreams of getting back behind the wheel.
He first appeared in the paddock at the Australian Grand Prix, where he mainly participated in promotions and speaking to the press, and of course journalists were interested in his plans for the near future. Daniel, speaking about it, emphasized again that he needed this break.
Daniel Riccardo: “When the season starts, you don’t have the opportunity to catch your breath. We can only remember and analyze the events of the previous race, but you will not be able to see the whole picture.
But now I look back at my last two years at McLaren and I understand why they didn’t work out so well. Even though it has only been a few months since the 2022 season ended, I already know exactly what I want to do differently when I return to the grid next year. And it’s great because if I raced this year I just wouldn’t have a chance to think about it.
One of the tasks for this year is understanding what I really want and what I don’t want. And I already know. Although it is clear that it is more difficult to find a place in the top team, I do not want to return at any cost. But when the stakes are high, it inspires me. I understand that this only complicates everything, but I set myself such a goal.
