Yesterday, the Porsche team conducted a first run-in of the third-generation (Gen3) electric racing car, which will debut in the next Formula E season.
The official presentation of the Gen3 machines took place in Monaco at the end of April, but now Porsche has rolled out its latest electric car for the first time on the circuit of the factory test site in Weisach.
Pascal Wehrlein completed the first laps in a car that will usher in a new chapter in Formula E history.
Pascal Wehrlein, Porsche works driver: “It was a very interesting day, I had the first experience behind the wheel of our new car and now I want to do full tests of it quickly.”
Florian Modlinger, Team Base Director: “The first step towards the Gen3 has been taken, we have successfully completed the first run-in of the car on the test track of the Porsche Research Center. I want to thank the whole team for all the efforts that made this possible.
There was a lot of work to do before the new car could cover its first miles, and now we’re preparing to continue over the next few days and weeks to get all its systems working properly and then start working on speed. ”
After the first nine races of the season, the Porsche Formula E Team is in 5th place in the team standings.
