Italian motorsport and endurance racing enthusiasts have revived the once famous Isotta Fraschini brand, and we talked about the company, by that name, building the Tipo 6 LMH Competizione hypercar in December.
Isotta Fraschini Motori SpA intends to enter the car at this year’s 24 Hours of Le Mans and, following the successful completion of the test bench test programme, will today begin testing the latest hypercar at the Italian track in Vallelunga.
The car successfully passed the mandatory FIA crash tests, homologation is imminent, but this week, within two days, the Tipo 6 will experience its baptism of fire on a real track.
A special prototype has been prepared for the tests, the body of which has not even been painted yet, and the first run-in of the hypercar and the verification of all systems on board have been entrusted to the test pilot Maurizio Mediani, who works at Michelotto Engineering, who was busy fine-tuning the car on the simulator. The names of the official riders of Isotta Fraschini will be announced later.
