We wrote that this year the FIA has changed its approach to penalty points deduction, moving away from the practice of double penalties, where the driver received both an extension of time and penalty points. But still, in Australia, the first points were achieved this year, and last year’s scores have not yet expired for many – they are valid for 12 months.
The leader in the number of penalty points over the past 12 months is Pierre Gasly. If he gets two more points before May 22, he will miss one Grand Prix.
