Famous British TV presenter Jeremy Clarkson was a recent guest at the Grand Prix and said Formula 1 is best seen on TV…
Jeremy Clarkson: “When you’re in the stands you have to be very lucky to see every incident. But even if you see something, the incident ends immediately – you don’t have slow-motion replays to really understand what happened. Formula 1 is a televised sport.
I was looking forward to the start. My first Grand Prix in many years surrounded by glamour, noise and fearful anticipation of a first corner accident. I jumped out of the elevator, ran past the bar – I was so excited – and took my seat on the balcony just as the starting lights went out. There was a sound, a snake of cars rushing past, then another sound – and they passed again, and I realized that I really did not know who was following whom.
So I went back to the building, found a couch and watched the race on TV, chatting with Bernie Ecclestone about cows and weight loss drugs with everyone until Max won.
