The Isotta Fraschini Tipo 6 Competizione hipkercar will undergo the very first tests in its history on Tuesday and Wednesday, they will be organized on the circuit in Vallelunga, which is located north of Rome. The main task that the creators of the new car solve is to check all its systems and collect information, and in the future it will be used in the refinement of the sports prototype.
Tests are already being carried out with the participation of specialists from the British team Vector Sport, which will work with this machine on the circuits of endurance races. The question is which tracks?
In December, when we first reported on this project, the Italian hybrid hypercar was set to make its WEC debut at Spa, scheduled for the last weekend in April. And then of course it was about participating in the 24 Hours of Le Mans.
But apparently the process of creating a car, as often happens, was delayed a bit, so it is still difficult to say exactly when Isotta Fraschini will receive FIA homologation.
According to Claudo Berro, the company’s general manager, the debut of the latest hypercar will be postponed to July, despite the Le Mans marathon being held a month earlier.
“I would like to see us compete in a few races this year,” Burro told Dailysportscar.com. – It is clear that we dream of participating in the 6 Hours of Monza, because this is our home stage. If the car is homologated by then, we would like to run this race. If not, we’re aiming for Japan and Bahrain.
But for us this is not a problem. We would like to take part in three races, but if for some reason it is only two, it is not a disaster. We made three chassis. Chassis number two was made available by the FIA for crash testing. Chassis number one is now being tested at Vallelunga and chassis number three will most likely be in the race. And from chassis number two we make a road version of the car – Isotta Fraschini Stradale.
