Williams driver Alex Albon has scored just one point in the past three grands prix, but believes the team can claim more at some circuits…
Alex Albon: “We are more suited to circuits with low tire wear and low tire loads. The more traction depends on downforce, the more we slide.
Our car heats up the surface of the tire much more than other teams. We were competitive in Bahrain because the race was at night, and in Jeddah we had a high race pace, as well as in Australia where it is cold at this time of year.
The car is slipping, but if there are long straights where the tires cool down, that suits us. We will be in the best shape on these circuits.
We don’t have a regular Formula 1 car – it adds when we remove the downforce. So we know we will be good at tracks like Monza.”
