Gabriele Mini set the fastest time on the second day of Formula 3 testing in Barcelona. The result of the Hitech driver in the morning session remained the best of the day.
In the morning, the riders concentrated on short sets of laps, simulating qualifying. Session one was interrupted by red flags – the reason was Taylor Barnard, who stopped at turn twelfth.
The marshals promptly evacuated the car and the session continued. Speeds gradually increased and the best time was held by Mini, who completed a circle in 1:26.319 seconds.
After a short lunch break, the riders returned to the track. As in the morning, the session was interrupted once by red flags – at the start of the second hour, Jose Maria Marti flew into the gravel of turn thirteen.
Racers worked on a long series of circles and ran a simulated race. The best time was set by yesterday’s leader, Gabriel Bortoleto – 1:28.277 seconds. Zach O’Sullivan ran the longest distance with 73 laps.
This completes the tests in Barcelona. Formula 3 competitors will return to the circuit in Imola, Italy, next week, which will host the second round of testing during the season from April 18-19.
