Paddock building inaugurated in Las Vegas

The grand opening ceremony of the paddock building of the future Las Vegas Grand Prix circuit, which is still under construction, took place in Las Vegas. The event took place on Friday and brought together senior management from Liberty Media Corporation, Formula 1, Nevada State and City officials as it is believed to mark a major milestone in the construction of the circuit’s only permanent infrastructure facility.

The ceremony began with all participants signing one of the security barriers – the fencing of the city race will soon consist of such elements in Las Vegas.

This was followed by short speeches from René Wilm, CEO of Las Vegas Grand Prix, Inc., Stefano Domenicali, President of Formula 1 and Greg Maffei, CEO of Liberty Media.

Rene Wilm, in particular, said: “This ceremony brings us one step closer to the most anticipated race of the year. This landmark event also underscores Liberty Media’s commitment to the long-term goal of making Las Vegas a fixture on the Formula 1 calendar.”

“The opening ceremony of the Las Vegas Grand Prix paddock building is an important milestone highlighting the US expansion of Formula 1. Las Vegas will be the official US headquarters of F1,” added Stefano Domenicali.

Greg Maffei, in turn, thanked everyone involved in the construction of the building – from representatives of the city government to more than 400 workers who worked in this facility.

The Las Vegas Grand Prix is ​​scheduled for November 16-18, 2023 and the paddock building will house the championship teams as well as the famous Paddock Club and other premium guest accommodations. By the way, this three-story building with an observation deck on the roof will be a very eye-catching building with a length of three football fields. This is believed to be the largest pit and paddock complex on the Formula 1 calendar.
