Carlos Sainz’s contract with Ferrari expires at the end of 2024, but other Formula 1 teams are already looking at the Spanish driver.
According to the Swiss newspaper Blick, Sauber boss Andreas Seidl has compiled a list of drivers he would like to see in the team if it starts using Audi powerplants in 2026.
The main candidate for a seat at Sauber is reportedly Carlos Sainz, and Seidl will try to sign him after the current deal with Ferrari expires. Andreas knows Sainz well from his time at McLaren and has always spoken highly of the driver.
Mick Schumacher is considered another contender for a spot behind the wheel of one of the cars. However, in March, Audi’s chairman of the board of directors, Markus Duismann, said the presence of a German driver behind the wheel of one of the cars is not a requirement, and no one was negotiating with Mick.
