In an interview with Formel 1, Red Bull adviser Helmut Marko spoke about the team’s preparation to develop engines with Ford for the 2026 season…
Helmut Marko: “Developing power plants independently is a risk, but we rely on experienced employees and are confident that everything will turn out well. The current information on the new engine is encouraging, I don’t expect us to be at a disadvantage. Yes, and with reliability everything should be fine.
We have a serious partner who is well versed in the hybrid part of the power plant and if they don’t have something ready, they look for a solution together with young companies or start-ups. We are confident that we will be competitive with them.
Ford engineers work with us in the same building where we launched six test benches last year. We made one engine, we assemble another – the progress is obvious. We’re on schedule, including the recruitment. We haven’t reached the optimal number of employees yet, but that doesn’t matter much. Of course, the arrival of yet another competitor – Audi – will only increase our passion for victory.”
