Former Formula 1 team boss Eddie Jordan believes the current budget constraints are not working. As an argument for his position, he cited Red Bull Racing’s results this season, recalling that the team was fined last year for exceeding the budget limit, but this did not affect its competitive position.
“I consider the restrictions to be a farce,” Eddie Jordan shared his opinion at the London Luxury Afloat exhibition. – As soon as a rule is introduced nowadays, everyone immediately looks for a way to get around it. I don’t understand what budget limits are for when it’s almost impossible to enforce them.
It is difficult for me to judge whether Red Bull has received a justified penalty, but that the penalty did not have the desired effect is obvious, given the results of the team. The main question is whether anyone can compete with Red Bull now.
I think it’s too early to make predictions about the fate of the title, but deep down I feel like the outcome is already a foregone conclusion. I don’t see anyone with the same strength, knowledge, speed, skill and driver mix as Red Bull. Getting ahead of them is no easy task.”
