Kimi’s son took 3rd place in a kart race in Italy

Last weekend, 8-year-old Robin, the son of Kimi Raikkonen, competed in karting at the Franciacorta circuit in northern Italy.

And he not only performed, but climbed the podium and lost to Alexander Hristov,
the winner of the race, which consisted of nine laps, not so much, less than three seconds. It should be emphasized that Robin’s rivals were two or three years older than him, but he quite coped with the task.

After the finish, Gino Rosato, one of Kimi’s best friends since the Ferrari days and Robin’s godfather, praised the young driver on his social media pages: “The 8-year-old boy fought against 11-year-old karters for the first time and immediately climbed to the podium. Kimi Raikkonen and Minttu Raikkonen, you did a great job! Hold on, Formula 1, we’re coming!”

Minttu, Robin’s mother, also shared on social networks her enthusiasm for the success of her son – together with her daughter, 5-year-old Rihanna, they were on the track and supported him with all their might. By the way, judging by the videos that appeared on the net after this race, Robin himself reacted paternally to finishing in the top three, ie quite restrained. As the winner and runner-up return to the go-kart pit lane to greet the fans, Raikkonen Jr. only lower the helmet visor with a decisive movement.

However, in the photo shared by his mother, he is already smiling broadly and holding up a well-deserved trophy.
