Red Bull Racing won the first three races of the season. Team drivers Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez expect to continue their successful streak this weekend in Baku.
Max Verstappen“It’s great to be back to work! It’s been a long break so I’m looking forward to racing again.
On the circuit in Baku it is difficult to do everything right. Since this is a city circuit with long straights, we have many options for wing settings.
In addition, we wait for the first weekend of the season with a sprint, so the stage can be a bit chaotic. We must try to start the weekend well and train well. Let’s see what we can do.”
Sergio Perez: “It feels like it’s been years since the last race! It was wonderfully relaxing and a lot of training in the gym and working with the team at the base. Opportunities to spend time off track should be taken as it is going to be a tough series of races.
My goal for this season is to achieve stability of the car and results, so from this point of view the stage in Australia was not quite ideal for me. Everything worked out in two races, but now we have to work with the team to ensure that the high level is maintained until the end of the season.
Five races in six weeks will be held on different track types to show just how good the RB19 really is this season.
Last year the team had a great result in Baku and everyone knows I love the city track, so winning is my constant goal. The weekend’s new setup will make it a little more difficult to find settings, but all teams are on an equal footing. We have to make sure that we do everything right from the first minute. I can’t wait to get behind the wheel again.”
