On Friday the Aston Martin cars had problems with DRS, but both drivers made it to the final of qualifying…
Fernando Alonso (6th): “Problems with DRS caused a small loss of speed, so I’m quite happy with sixth place. With a long weekend ahead, the new format increases the chance of earning points. I hope we do well in the sprint tomorrow.
The battle in the middle group is incredibly tight, we need to achieve more stability in the remaining days of the weekend. It’s nice to know we’ll be back on the road tomorrow morning for another qualifying session.”
Lance walk (9th): “Today I felt confident in the car, it allowed me to attack, which is especially important on a track like Baku. Unfortunately there were problems with DRS from time to time and in the final of qualifying the system simply failed, resulting in a lot of time loss. We will do our best to resolve this issue definitively tomorrow.
I liked the new format. It is interesting to qualify immediately after a single training session. We know it won’t be easy to do all this tomorrow morning without training, but I’m looking forward to it.”
