Lando Norris has had a good qualifying and hopes to score many points in the race…
Lando Norris: “In yesterday’s sprint we opted for soft tyres, but that turned out to be a mistake. It’s not that it’s a bad tire, it just doesn’t last that many laps. But we have tried to prepare carefully for today’s Grand Prix in which we will start from 7th position, which is not bad as this is our best qualifying performance so far this year.
I’m already looking forward to the race, because in Baku it’s always very interesting. McLaren has prepared some technical innovations for this weekend and I would say they work quite effectively. I can’t pinpoint exactly how much they allowed to add, but we’re moving in the right direction.
This is reassuring and motivating for all the team, the hard work at the base in Woking continues so we will be getting more updates in the future. But in Baku we already made a small step forward and so far this weekend is going well, so today we will try to get as many points as possible.
We have a long race ahead of us, a lot can happen, so we have to be ready to take every opportunity that arises.
