On Sunday, before the start of the race in Miami, a ceremony will be held to introduce the riders to the fans.
At the 2017 US Grand Prix in Austin, then-new Formula One owners Liberty Media hosted a grid introduction ceremony, borrowing much of the show from the US series. At this point, professional boxing entertainer Michael Buffer in turn announced the names of all 20 pilots who took to the starting grid, and performers in racing suits performed behind them.
The ceremony ended with the release of Lewis Hamilton and Sebastian Vettel, who then took the first two places in the individual standings and qualified on the front row – the Mercedes and Ferrari drivers faced each other and the organizers put a cup between them in .
That ceremony caused such fierce criticism that Liberty Media did not try to organize something similar again. However, on Sunday in Miami we have a second attempt, but according to Racefans, the ceremony will be different from the one that took place in Austin five and a half years ago.
The Miami Grand Prix is scheduled to start at 3:30 p.m. local time and the presentation of the racers will begin at 3:08 p.m.
