Charles Leclerc had a good chance of battling for victory in the Azerbaijan Grand Prix and was in the lead on lap 20, but before heading for the start-finish straight, his Ferrari engine started to smoke.
Charles was able to make it to the pits and you can guess what mood he was in as this is the second technical dropout in the last three races.
“I just don’t have the words to describe what happened,” the Scuderia driver told Sky Sports. “Understandably this is very disturbing, but I don’t know what happened. We have to analyze everything.
Do not know what to say. We are capable of good speed and in the first races of the season we had no specific problems, but it seems that they have increased now. Although we didn’t change much about the car, and if we did, it was done to increase efficiency and reliability.
While it’s hard for me to understand what happened, we need to look at all of this in detail. Of course I can’t imagine the full picture of what happened, but it happened again. So far I just feel frustrated and I don’t have any information about the causes of the problems, because I haven’t had time to talk to the team yet.”
