Head of logistics team Ferrari Sergio Bondi on the difficulties associated with phasing out – as in Miami …
Question: How many kilometers do team members cover per season? What difficulties are you facing?
Sergei Bondi: About 230,000 kilometers per year. It can be difficult to find the best routes and carriers that reduce the negative impact of travel on the workforce. We consider a variety of options, charter and scheduled flights to suit our schedule. As far as hotels go, it’s important to stay as close to the highway as possible, which cuts down on travel time.
Q: How do you handle races that are as far apart as Baku and Miami?
Sergei Bondi: Here one of the tasks is to move the whole group to the location of the next race as soon as possible, so that the employees have more time to adapt. We try to offer them as relaxed a schedule as possible for the first few days.
Q: What do you personally enjoy most about working with Ferrari?
Sergei Bondi: Solving complex, unexpected problems with the movement of people and goods. They are not easy to deal with, but achieving a positive result becomes a reward for all our efforts. The most important thing for us is that everything goes according to plan.
