Esteban Ocon: In Miami, we want to start wrestling again

A year ago Esteban Ocon scored points in Miami from 20th place and is looking forward to a successful performance this week…

Q: The team wants to rehabilitate itself after a failed weekend in Baku?
Esteban Ocon: The weekend in Baku turned out to be difficult, but in Miami we want to return to the fray. We discussed the final stage during the briefing, we are ready to use this experience and move forward. Those were frustrating days when a lot didn’t work out. We can no longer afford such weekends. The whole team is happy that a few days after Baku we have the chance to rectify the situation.

Q: Will the team change their approach after two difficult weekends?
Esteban Ocon: The results were not really what we expected, but we know from the Australian lap that the car has speed. The new ones we brought last weekend are working, but we need to find the right settings for them. We understand that we need to achieve better results and we are all working towards that. Personally, I look forward to returning to the cockpit in Miami to start the weekend with renewed energy.

Q: How do you feel about Miami after playing here last year?
Esteban Ocon: Beautiful city! Last year was a busy weekend both on and off the track. That was my first time in Miami, I have fond memories of the city and the race where I finished 8th after starting from 20th.

The configuration combines slow technical sections and smooth high speed sections. We are happy to return to Miami, where the atmosphere is always good – and we hope to please the fans.
